I switched things up for this podcast. I dialogue on two questions. The first one pertains to the Bible. I've fielded questions on the Bible, namely, is it trustworthy and why we should bother to believe it is true. I try my best to put it in the right context and ask the right questions.... The other Q involves outlining the roles of certain people in church. Do pastors do it all, are certain people pastor people and the rest spectators? Listen in for more.
Sometimes church leaders are guilty of investing in the wrong thing. It's never a wrong thing to invest with people though right? Well perhaps 'wrong' is--well--the wrong word, but incomplete wouldn't. Ro explores why churches have opted to make 'leaders' over disciples in this podcast.
Here is a long overdue podcast on the topic of Easter. The first 5 minutes are a quick update on Calgary Church so fast forward past that if you aren't interested. This podcast uses the blog post here (on resurrection) for material.
Part 2 of a podcast series on the movie Avatar from my friend Damien at South Edmonton Alliance church. These podcasts are unlike our other ones which aren't sermons. So have a listen and beat the Avatar blues [pun intended].
I saw it for its novelty. Some saw it for its hope. That's probably taking it too far, but it raises an important question: what has Avatar provided that's missing in your life? Here's Part 1 of 2 of a sermon series from my friend Damien at South Edmonton Alliance church. Have a listen and beat the blues [pun intended].
Podcast #13 finally released. Here is a brief update on what's been happening with Calgary Church and how you might find us difference from other churches in town.
This is a bit of a cheater podcast since it's not really a podcast. On occasion I do the preaching thing, which is where this recording comes from. A couple of things to note before you download. 1) This is about twice as long as I normally go, 2) I didn't choose the topic, not that it was a bad one, 3) this is a sermon....
Finally another podcast! It's summer so updates have been a bit slower. This podcast discusses the various views surrounding the recent opening, closure, and opening again of the Second Chance Recovery Clinic in Calgary. I had the sense that we really experienced the clash of 'times' as two very different perspectives interacted in our city as the controversy erupted.

The final installment of a five part series on the nature of the 'Missional Church v Attractional church'. We still have Damien Lee from Edmonton for most of the call, and then some closing remarks.
This five part series is an excellent resource for those trying to figure out and learn the language in the whole 'missional movement'. A unique perspective from Bible belt Alberta on the emergence of the missional community.
