Missio Dei – Missional Church in Alberta Network

April 5, 2009 at 5:31 pm - By: Ro · Missional Church in Alberta.

Part of our purpose at Calgary Church is to help like minded leaders/individuals/communities network with each other. We don't feel there is a fundamental need to be divided across denominational lines so we value other communities who hold similar beliefs to ours and are engaging in the same mission as us.

The 'Missio Dei - Missional Church in Alberta Network' is focused to present a forum for Christians in Alberta to discuss ideas and join networks engaging in God's mission to redeem humanity -- the missio dei.

We are the hub to connect people into communities and to network communities with each other.

These people and communities have some of these characteristics:

-If you classify or have been classified as any of the following: postliberal, postevangelical, postchurch, postliberal, postmodern, postfoundational, and sometimes postal.....:P

-You are wholly consumed to join the Triune God in the plan to redeem humanity and creation.

- You want to be a leader in a Jesus movement using your own words, friends, and experiences.

-You want to connect with regular people around you in a language you both can understand and don't get or belong in big box church, old school conservatism, loose liberalism, or any other expression of church stuck in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's.....

-You've wondered whether your faith is more than avoiding impending fiery doom, guilting or rationally convincing people to believe what you do, or doing the right things at the right times.

-If you're familiar and have read some of the following authors apart from those in the biblical stories: Bonhoeffer, Fitch, Van Gelder, Guder, Newbigin, Wright, Stetzer, Hirsch, Frost.....

-Are more interested in creating and leading culture than reacting to what you don't like about it.

If any of these sound like you then welcome get connected with us or on our Facebook Group to learn more about upcoming events, communities near you, and more.
